REFURBISHMENT OF OLD MILL BUILDING

We were instructed to carry out the structural design work for the refurbishment work within an old grade listed mill building. The main work consisted in the design of additional floors within the building ensuring all the necessary design checks had been carried out on the existing foundations, which included under pinning designs.

The existing king post trusses also had to be design engineered to allow them to be cut to make way for a large loft boardroom space. This was carried out using structural ply bow beam designs. Further design work included structural steel staircase designs.
